"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."
Hebrews 13:8
For a lady like me who isn't so keen on change, this verse just calms my soul. Even though the days change, the seasons change, and the years change our God will never change. He is the same God who sent his Son to Earth to be born as a baby, to grow up as a perfect man, and to die a sinner's death for our sins. He is the same God who has forgiven me over and over for my sin's against Him. He is the same God who picks me up, dusts me off, and takes me hand after I fall. I needed to reminder of Hebrews 13:8 today.
God is the same, but we don't have to be! Because of His great mercy and kindness He will forgive us when we fall and help us back up to our feet. I'm so glad that I serve a God who will refine me until the day Christ comes back for His children. Oh, how I want to be refined in this new year!
Today on Taylor's (continue to pray for her, by the way!) Top 2 Tuesday it's all about resolutions. I hate to say that I have New Years Resolutions because, honestly, who ever sticks to those? This year, I am setting my heart and mind on the things that I know the Lord wants from me.
Here are two new actions I'm taking in 2011!
1. I'm going to memorize two verses a month all twelve months of the year. Scripture memory is something that I haven't done seriously and I know that truly memorizing scripture to heart would make such a difference in my life. I'm teaming up with Beth Moore and many other "Siestas" in 2011 to memorize scripture! If you're interested in this great opportunity to grow, visit Beth's blog to learn more!
2. I'm going to serve. Plain and simple. I have felt a strong calling from the Lord to serve Him in whatever ways possible and I am so excited to see what He has in store. God has been saying some big things to me about my blog, so be on the lookout in 2011!
