Hi. I'm Nicole!

Wife.  Mama to two busy toddler babes. Photographer.  Trying to seek Jesus each day, through each season.  So glad you're here!

Christmas in July

In 2013 I started a tradition that easily become my very favorite... Christmas in July! I LOVE Christmas and July is such a hot, sticky month here in the mid-south so it's a refreshing break to pretend like it's the holiday season for a day! For the first two years, I wouldn't tell Tyler when I was planning it. He would just come home from work to Christmas decor, a holiday meal, and a Christmas movie ready to go! Last year we were living with our friends so Meg and I made Christmas cookies and put on I'll Be Home for Christmas      (one of my favorites!) when our husbands got home! It was the first year I "shared" our tradition and it was sweet!

A few months ago we started a weekly dinner with our community (I'm going to talk more about this soon!) on Mondays, so when the 25th fell on a Monday I KNEW we needed to change our taco night to a "Christmas in July" party! So people came with holiday dishes, in festive outfits, and we had such a sweet time of fellowship!

After all of our friends went home, we turned out the lights, warmed up the hot chocolate, and watched Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown  together. I love sharing our traditions, but I also love a quiet night with just the hubs. :) it was the perfect Christmas in July!

It's not too late! You still have several days left this month to make a Christmas party happen! Round up your friends, cook some holiday food, get our a few decorations and call it a day! It really is such a sweet tradition that we are excited to continue with our friends and our littles. Merry Christmas in July, y'all!
