The Short List Vol. 2
Here we are, October 1st. It seems JUST PLAIN WILD that we’re already here in October. In many ways this year has gone by in a blink and in other ways I feel like the beginning of the year was an eternity ago. Isn’t it crazy how time can feel so many different ways at once? I feel really aware of how quickly time is passing and how much Campbell and Crawford change each week. I want to make a conscious effort to really slow down and soak in this exact season that we’re in as a family. I am excited for a fresh month and new opportunities for me to dig into motherhood, right where I am. Kicking off this month with a new volume of The Short List!
What I’m loving: No surprise here, I’M LOVING FALL SO MUCH. It’s still hot as July around here, but we’ve had a few days that are hinting at fall weather and it makes my soul take a big deep breath. We’ve done a few fall related activities lately like baking pumpkin muffins and I took the kids to pick out little pumpkins at our local nursery. Experiencing things with them right now is the most fun!
What I’m watching: This is Us. Need I say anything more?? This show just gets me way down in the feelings and I think I’m safe to say this is my favorite show of all time. It feels so personal to me and I truly love it so much. The only thing that would put it over the top for me is if the characters loved Jesus! Ha!
What I’m cooking: I’m so ready to start using all my fall recipes! I made taco soup this weekend but I have my eyes on some of Andrea’s fall soup recipes like her butternut squash soup!
What I’m reading: It makes me laugh to say this, but I’m still reading two of the books that I mentioned in July’s short list! I’ve actually put down the spiritual disciplines book and I’m working on finishing Parenting first. So many good truths in this book and I would recommend reading it even if you’re not a parent!
What I’m looking forward to: This season of life is about to get crazy for us as we prepare to move out of our rental house and into another rental house or with my parents, get ready for my sister’s wedding, do all the fall things, and work on house details so we can move in sometime early 2019. Part of my wants to be stressed out about all of these things, but I’m going to work really hard to just be present where the Lord has us. Today, that’s at home with my babies. Even though there’s craziness ahead, I’m looking forward to all the sweet memories this season will hold!
