Friday No. 17
I'm so excited that it's Friday! I think we're going to have a family movie night tonight and have pizza and watch The Lion King. Last week it finally hit me that I can rent DVDs from the library and it's such a fun little treat! We took a few with us for our Labor Day getaway and it's so nice being able to return them and not have to have a pile of DVDs at home. Add it to my list of reasons that we love the library!
1. Labor Day fun!
My family rented a lake house for Labor Day weekend and we had a blast! We haven't gone somewhere as a family since we took them to the beach last June and that trip was HARD. I've been nervous to travel with them again but they did so great and had the BEST time! It truly was such a fun trip and a good opportunity to unplug a little bit and rest. We have some family friends who own a lake house and a boat there so we got to spend Sunday on the lake with them and the kids LOVED the boat! It was really fun watching them experience something new.
2. First fall launch of Holly & Co.
Last week we released our first set of fall item in the shop and it has me SO ready for cooler temps! I think I'm really going to love the mock neck sweater this fall. It's SO SO soft and cozy!
3. True Crime Podcasts
I LOVE true crime podcasts! A new one just came out called Dr. Death and it's about a neurosurgeon who botched countless surgeries. It's already really interesting and I'd never heard about the case before so I'm interested to see what happens!
4. Fall baking
I'm so ready to start cooking for fall! It's for sure my favorite time of the year when it comes to meals and treats and I love watching football on a Saturday night with a big bowl of taco soup. I'm trying to wait until it's cooler than 90 degrees! Despite the temps I'm kicking off my favorite time of the year with my favorite easy muffins tomorrow morning! One can of pumpkin, one cake mix. THAT'S IT! It's clearly not the most healthy breakfast, but I love it for a treat while we watch College Gameday on a few fall Saturday mornings. I usually use a spice cake mix but Aldi didn't have any so I picked up a Devil's Food Cake mix. I'm sure it'll be so yummy!
5. Jen Wilkin's 1,2,3 John Study
Our community group is starting our second Jen Wilkin study! We went through Hebrews earlier this year and loved it so much that we wanted to start another one this fall. She has a handful of free studies on her website and you can listen to her teachings on her podcast. Jen is probably my favorite bible teacher and I love learning from her!
