Hi. I'm Nicole!

Wife.  Mama to two busy toddler babes. Photographer.  Trying to seek Jesus each day, through each season.  So glad you're here!

Seventh Heaven

Did y'all ever watch this show?  I absolutely loved this family!  I always wanted to join this family for a day, but I also had a little crush on Matt, so I don't think that would have worked out too well.
Moving on.
My post really don't have anything to do with Seventh Heaven, except for the number seven.  They have seven kids (about five too many for my liking, but I'm just saying) and I have seven things to share with you today.  Lauren from Not Your Everyday Cinderella tagged me in this fun little game and I'm happy to play along!  Go check out her blog, she's super fun and has a heart for Jesus.  She's got a winning blog in my book!  Okay, let's get started.

One.
I'm so glad that I got such honest responses to my contentment post on Friday.  It's so refreshing to know that there are more humans out there that struggle.  Can I get an amen?  And for the record, don't you ever believe that I've got this life figured out because I most certainly do not.  I still struggle, I still cry over things that don't deserve my tears, I still whine, I still complain, I still question God's plans for me, I'm still a big ol' sinner.  I try to make this blog an honest one.  I don't want women to look at my blog and think "wow, that girl seems to have it all together.  What's wrong with me?"  I want to share the fun, happy parts of my life, but I also want to share my sorrows and struggles.  As Beth Moore once said on her blog, "blogs aren't for the proud".  I completely agree with that little lady.  I don't want to make my life seem like something much prettier than it is.  I want to be real.  I officially give every one of you the right to tell me when I paint my life to be a perfect little picture.  Don't let me fool you! Whew, glad that's off my chest.
Now, onto less serious things!

Two.
I have a "wedding" folder under my favorites.  I'm pretty obsessed with saving every picture, tip, and venue that I find.  By the time I get engaged, I won't have a single detail left to plan!  Maybe this is a problem?

Three.
I'm about to start a hope chest and I am so thrilled about it!  Caitlin taught me all about this old fashioned way of saving things for a future marriage and I am totally on board with this idea.  I think it's going to be so neat to buy little things here and there to save for my future home with my hubby!  I wanted a chest that had been in the family, so I called the lady who could practically run an antique store out of her home.  My Nana!  She is letting me use a beautiful cedar chest that her dad built for her mom when she was just a little girl.  I can't wait to fill this family chest with lots of future fun!

Four.
I recently signed up for a free trial of netflix and I received the first DVD of the first season of Glee this weekend!  This is my first time to ever watch the show and after only three episodes in, I'm already loving it!  I can't wait to finish the first season so I can watch the second season on Hulu!

Five.
I would really love to teach in the low income areas of Memphis one day, but I just don't know if I could handle it everyday.  I have tears in my eyes just listening to some of the stories my mom tells me some days.  I know that I would love to make a difference, but I just don't know if I could hold back the tears long enough to teach an entire day!

Six.
I absolutely love to travel.  I definitely won't have a job that will allow me to travel, but I hope that I will be able to explore the States as well as the rest of the world when I have breaks from school.  One of the things about marriage that I'm most looking forward to is traveling with a husband that I adore.  What could be better than exploring a new place with someone you love?  I only hope that he has the same passion for travel!  And I also hope that he has a good job.  This gal's teacher salary wouldn't cut it for fun trips!

Seven.
This past weekend Tyler and I celebrated Christmas!  I knew that I wanted to have Christmas at my place so we would have something that was a little more "us".  I decorated the table, seriously cooked, and got all dressed up for my guy.  Here are a few pictures from our Christmas celebration!

This table setting was inspired by Hostess with the Mostess!  If you've never checked out their site and their blog you need to head on over to see their cute party ideas right now.  My ideas came from the "Peppermint Twist" Christmas theme.

A little ribbon goes a long way!

No recipe for the turkey.  After making many calls to my Nana, I just pretended like I knew how to cook it!

You can't go wrong with canned corn!

HAHA!  I can't help but laugh when I look at this poor picture.  In my mind, these were the prettiest strawberries, but I just couldn't get my idea onto the plate.  They were supposed to have a peppermint swirl, but somehow my white chocolate/ red food coloring mixture turned out all wrong!  Oh, well.
facetime with him!

Since he got his TV at his birthday, he only got a few "little" gifts.  He's got a good, new devotional for 2011 and a handsome new Ralph Lauren polo!

We had such a great Christmas together.  I love him more everyday!

I hope y'all have a great start to this Christmas week!  I've been feeling pretty crummy today and I really hope I'm feeling better by the end of the week!  I'm such a baby when I'm sick.  My emotions get kicked into high gear!  I've cried several times today and I just couldn't tell you why.
This twenty year old is terrible at being sick.

Look out, ladies!  I'm tagging you!

Until Next Time.
